2007-06-01 - 4:29 p.m. The Thrill of it all My family went on a three night holiday to Southampton - we stayed in a very friendly hotel that has a family room. For people with more than two children these rooms are invaluable. One of the things you never need to know (like where the diapers are in the supermarket or where every clean toilet in the world is) is that the entire holiday business is geared around family groups made up of 2 adults and 2 children. Everywhere from theme park tickets to hotel rooms to package holidays. Everything is for 2 and 2. Well we are 2 and 3 and it is a pain to go anywhere. But this particular hotel has a suite like room that can accommodate two adults and up to four children. Excellent. And they only charge one room's rate for it (unlike if you go for the adjoining rooms...) Enough boring information. The kids thought this hotel was the greatest place ever. They all got towels, and soap on their beds. There was a tv in their room and it had a 24hr cartoon channel on it. And there were many light switches so that each child in turn could turn the lights back on again when they were supposed to be going to sleep. What at entertaining game that was. They took turns using the card key for the door. The hotel has a pool (very nice) and in the changing rooms there is a spinner to dry the swimming suits. And there's a jacuzzi. Just SO MUCH FUN staying in this hotel. not to mention the 10 year old's favorite - the all you can eat breakfasts. Oh my. AND the beds were made when they came back in, and new cookies put on their table. Sometimes I forget all the fun that there is to be had when you are young. I shouldn't forget. leave a note
