2009-11-06 - 4:20 p.m. Do not be afwaid Maywy A very excited girl bounded out of school on Tuesday with some very exciting news. Year 2 performs the nativity at Nicole's school and they were given their parts. She is Mary, and she is wildly excited about it. She asked whether or not she could stuff the doll up her tunic to simulate pregnancy, but was told no. HA HA. I would love to see her waddle up the nave of the church holding her belly, and then wiggle about and plop the babe into the manger. But no. We will just have the delights of a more traditional kind - my daughter with a tea towel tied to her head, kneeling before her friend, Molly-Sue, who is Gabriel. In the meantime, 11+ time approaches, and just to make sure that the children aren't studying too hard for that, the school has arranged mid-term exams next week. So we will be spending the weekend learning about the young Victoria, the different parts of the eye, the development of the steam locomotive and other such drivel. Oh joy. Oh rapture. Stop me now. leave a note
