It lives

Sorry for those of you trying to keep up with the fridge situation. The new fridge arrived yesterday - along with a miracle. It was one of those 8-6 delivery slots, ugh, delivery jail.

They arrived at 8:05, unpacked it, brought it in, took away the old one, and G and I were staring at each other in shock. The delivery men were efficient and even friendly. Is the world suddenly a brighter place?

But even more exciting news is that the shed is up! Three days of hard slog (and I mean hard) and G, sister and dad have put the monster together, correcting and bettering the somewhat useless instructions. Yesterday, G and dad spent the whole day sealing and felting the roof. It actually looks like a real building now. Even though it is huge, I don't know if it will accommodate everything the boys want.

Speaking of the boys, one is packed and waiting to be taken to school to catch the coach to the airport and off to Milan for rugby tour, and the other is on his way to the dump with dad to leave, among other things, the remains of the swingset.

I hope to phone the tree man next week and arrange for him to come and lop our hundred trees and then maybe our garden will start to really look like we love it. For the first time since we have lived here, there is actually a reason to go down to the bottom.

We have given birth to a beautiful, stable (not bouncing!) shed.
